New York City - Subway Puppy

New York City - Subway Puppy

Presenting "Subway Puppy" - a botanical art sculpture from the floral artists at Don de L’Amour. 'Biggie' the floral pup travelled across the subway stations interacting with citizens of New York before settling into his new home at Lincoln Center, offering guests a wellspring of inspiration, an intricate floral sculpture that transcends the ordinary. In the realm of botanical art, we weave the unexpected, to connect the essence of nature with one’s imagination.

"Subway Puppy" is a testament to our experimental exploration of the boundaries between floral design, nature, and art. With over 200 fresh flower stems, each carefully curated and hand-woven with detail to allow each flower to move in a lively and dynamic way, as if they are living creatures. Don de L’Amour invites the audience to embrace and see flowers in new ways, even in the most ordinary of settings.

A symphony of form and sentiment, this sculpture was born from Don de L’Amour’s recent discovery that even the most beloved companions, like our faithful canine friends, can find themselves tucked away in carrier bags amidst the bustling currents of life - the New York City subway stations. Just as the city pulses with stories, Don de L’Amour uses the symbol of a dog to bring light-heartednesses, joy and spirit. “Subway Puppy” is a poignant illustration of companionship, loyalty, and the fervor of being present.

In the heart of this work, we ask the audience to reimagine the otherworldly possibilities of how organic forms can show up and mesmerize in everyday life while still finding groundedness in the natural world that surrounds them. "Subway Puppy" is more than a sculpture; it's an exaltation of life's vibrant dance, a celebration of the resonance between blossoms and dreams.
